Duchenne UK

Duchenne UK is a lean, ambitious and highly focused charity with a clear vision: to fund and accelerate treatments and a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and to beat this disease in a decade – to End Duchenne in Ten. Duchenne UK is run by parents, committed to saving this generation of boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a muscle wasting disease: It’s the most common genetic killer of children and most boys with it, won’t live past their twenties. Living with that makes the boys anything but weak, it makes them incredibly strong. We call them the World’s STRONGEST Boys.

In 4 years, the charity has raised more than £6.5million, and has co-funded two successful Phase I clinical studies and is now co-funding a third gene therapy clinical trial. We are also funding 13 other research projects and 8 clinical research posts, at leading muscle centres in the UK. We spend c.90% of what we raise directly on research.
