Dublin Gallery Weekend 2025 are delighted to announce the first ever Irish episode of Russell Tovey and Robert Diament’s acclaimed Talk Art podcast, live at the National Gallery of Ireland on Saturday November 8th from 12-1pm. Isabel Nolan, Ireland’s representative at the 2026 Venice Biennale, will be the featured artist in what promises to be a lively and engaging discussion on all things Irish contemporary art.

Nolan’s new exhibition, Look at the Harlequins! runs at the Kerlin Gallery on South Anne Street as part of Dublin Gallery Weekend 2025, the annual four day festival of visual arts taking place across the capital city from November 6th to 9th. Actor Russell Tovey and gallerist Robert Diament host Talk Art, a podcast dedicated to the world of art, available across all the usual platforms. The acclaimed podcast features exclusive interviews with leading artists, curators and gallerists, and occasionally their talented friends from other industries such as acting, music and journalism. Their informal and jargon-free approach proves that art really is for everyone. Previous guests include a fascinating range of creative people from Grayson Perry to Elton John, Tracey Emin to Sean Scully, Paul Smith, Pedro Pascal, Wolfgang Tillmans, Sonia Boyce and many more.

Isabel Nolan’s expansive practice incorporates sculptures, paintings, textile works, photographs, writing and works on paper, taking in cosmological phenomena, religious reliquaries, Greco-Roman sculptures and literary/historical figures, examining the behaviour of humans and animals alike. Driven by “the calamity, the weirdness, horror, brevity and wonder of existing alongside billions of other preoccupied humans”, Nolan’s works give generous form to fundamental questions about the ways the chaos of the world is made beautiful or given meaning through human activity.

Through their popular podcast, Tovey and Diament open the doors to the contemporary art world, with Talk Art establishing itself as the must-listen cultural podcast, garnering more than 1.8 million downloads since its launch in 2018. The pair have also published two books to accompany the podcast. Talk Art, a Sunday Times bestseller, “is a beautiful and accessible celebration of contemporary art, and a guidebook to navigating and engaging with the art world”, while Talk Art: The Interviews gathers twenty-four of the most profound, interesting, moving, funny and informative moments from the podcast.

Talk Art with Isabel Nolan, live from the National Gallery of Ireland takes place on Saturday November 8th in the NGI Lecture Theatre (entrance is via Merrion Square gates). It is a free but ticketed event, with very limited capacity. Doors 11:30, strictly no entry after 12pm.
