Event description

Description

Join the Du Bois Orchestra as we continue to celebrate the 150th anniversary of W.E.B. Du Bois's birth. Under the baton of Nathaniel Meyer, the orchestra will perform an exciting program, featuring the world premier of Sorrow Songs by Sachiko Murata; the piece is a newly commissioned work based on songs from the book “The Souls of Black Folk” by W.E.B Du Bois. We will also perform Tannhäuser Overture by Richard Wagner, Petite Suite de Concert by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and Symphony No. 8 by Franz Schubert. We hope to see you there!
