Introduction to Lean & Six Sigma: Improving Customer Satisfaction and Efficiency In Your Organization: In this training, students will work with detailed Value Stream Maps and identify areas of waste, with an in-depth look at the sources of defects and associated quality issues. They will apply Lean Six Sigma tools – including statistical analysis – to reduce waste and verify effectiveness. This course includes interactive simulations, small groups, and a comprehensive, real-world project. $100

Managing Generations in the Workplace: Gain an understanding of managing employees from different generations. Discover what motivates each generation, what incentives they respond to, and what messages they value. $100

Marketing Using Social Media: Improve your online visibility and use social media to achieve your personal and professional goals. Reach thousands of potential customers with little-to-no expense. Those with no experience in social networking will build the skills to advertise ideas, promote messages, understand social media laws, grab audience attention, use mobile live streaming apps like Periscope, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter. $150 (2 Hours)

Developing Logic Models: Learn how to create and use a logic model, a visual representation of your initiative's activities, outputs, and expected outcomes. $100 (2 Hours)

Grant Writing 1: This workshop will help you develop grant writing skills that are essential for acquiring competitive funding – from government agencies or private foundations. Beginners will learn essential tools for writing winning grant proposals. Those with more experience will sharpen their skills and engage in interactive discussions about trends in grant writing and funding. The workshop covers the grants process and offers hands-on practice with each aspect, from foundation research and cultivation to the development and writing of a proposal. Find out what funders look at when considering a grant proposal, what grant compliance means, and how to find potential funders. $100 (3 Hours)

Grant Writing 2: This course will hone the essential skills for acquiring competitive funding from government agencies or private foundations. The course builds on Level I, with more in-depth exploration of the grants process, and offers hands-on practice with researching, developing, and writing a grant proposal. $100 (3 Hours)

Diversity and Inclusion: Diversity and Inclusion There is an increase in cultural and ethnic diversity in America. The need for culturally competent professionals in social work, case management, health and mental health services is a priority in the rapidly changing demographics of the United States. The delivery of health care and other services in a multicultural setting requires recognizing the diversity existing among us. Many state and local organizations providing funding for health, mental health, HIV/AIDS, and substance abuse are requiring evidence of a culturally competent workforce. This course is designed to provide a conceptual framework for cultural competency and why it is an imperative in the delivery of service. $150 (4 Hours - 4 CEUs)

Title IX and Ethics

Criminal Justice Reform : A discussion of the current national trend to reform the criminal justice system(adult and juvenile) in the areas of sentencing, decreasing recidivism, access to education while incarcerated, access to medical and psychological treatment in prisons/jails. Does reform extend to the community once the inmate has been released? What efforts are being made to provide educational services to the inmate when he is released? $75 (1.5 CEUs)

Is the Classroom of Today Providing the Education for Tomorrow? The education of the K-12 grade student does not just include reading, writing, and arithmetic. The school administrators, teachers and parents and faced with - the increased number of charter schools in our communities, the application of appropriate discipline, the services or lack thereof for students with special needs, inclusion and diversity in the classroom and in school activities and of course testing. The legal impact of each on our classrooms and our school systems will be discussed. $75 (1.5 CEUs)

Ethics & Fairness in the Workplace: Do They Work Together in the Area of Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation? An overview of how gender identity and sexual orientation are defined in the context of the workplace. What are the legal and ethical considerations to be made in the workplace? $75 (1.5 CEUs)

Legal Issues in Higher Education : A review of case law and current trends in our nation's colleges and universities in the areas of: Title IX, admissions, discipline(hazing), Clery Act compliance and diversity/inclusion. $75 (1.5 CEUs)

Computer Software and Technology

WordPress: WordPress is one of the most popular Content Management Systems (CMS). Even with little or no experience, you can quickly build a website or create a blog. By the end of the class, you will understand how to use WordPress features to design a visually attractive website and dynamic web presence. $200 (3 Hours)Introduction to Excel: Introduction to Excel will help start you down the road to creating advanced workbooks and worksheets. Excel can help you organize, calculate, analyze, revise, update, and present your data. This course will provide you with a foundation for Excel knowledge and skills. You will learn to perform calculations, modify a worksheet and format a worksheet. $150 (3 Hours)

PhotoShop: Adobe Photoshop is a market leader in image editing, creation, and graphic software. The Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) application is commonly used in graphic design, web, and 3D projects. Gain the ability to create basic images, manage selections and layers, modify and repair images, and manage color. $200 (4 Hours)

Leisure Courses

Beginner Cricut: Explore how-to start creating custom designs. You'll begin with the basic components as you learn how to make simple designs, set your materials, align cutting mats and use your tools. Ready to make personalized projects? You will be shown how to use the Cricut Design Space® software. Step up your skills as you discover easy ways to create intricate designs with the software's Print then Cut and pattern fill features. Then, go beyond paper designs and experiment with vinyl, iron-on materials and more. $35 (2 Hours)Wine Tasting: Are you a wine enthusiast looking to learn about the physiology of taste and how to evaluate acidity, tannin, alcohol, residual sugar and other structural elements of a wine? This course has been designed so you can start to build your wine descriptor vocabulary. In this interactive full-day session you will gain the confidence to more accurately identify and describe wines. $75 (2 Hours)

Line Dancing: A fun, low impact form of exercise that helps build confidence in solo movement. Teaching 4- 6 contemporary line dances to all levels. $25 (2 Hours)

Creative Writing: It is a group session, led by an instructor, that focuses on student writing. Students learn to articulate their response to writing in a way that is useful for both the person whose work is being critiqued and the person who makes the comments. The workshop method of teaching allows students to develop the critical thinking skills needed for revising their own work. Creative Writing workshops focus on the development of style and the treatment of content. An appropriate level of writing skill is required. In a hands-on learning approach, students critique each others' work, discussing areas of strength and making constructive suggestions about aspects of writing that could be improved upon, all in a supportive environment. $75 (2 Hours)

Chef Byron is a seasoned chef working in New Orleans as a Chef Instructor for the Mardi Gras School of Cooking. There he teaches locals and tourist several New Orleans style dishes including Shrimp and Grits, Bread Pudding and many more. Chef Byron has been featured on Food Networks, Chopped, and other competing platforms. He currently works with local nonprofits, teaching the youth about food and participating in competitions with the students. He received his training in New York at the International Culinary Center and has worked at several of New York and New Orleans Best restaurants. $75 (2 Hours) Byron Bradley
