Greetings DSLR 1 Photographer!
Thank you very much for registering for ViewFinder's DSLR1 course on 14.April. In case you are unfamiliar with our course format, here is some information to help you prepare and get the most out of your course day.
Time/Schedule: Our course will begin promptly at 10:00 and we will take ca. 60 minutes for lunch at 12:15. We'll resume after lunch and finish up with the course at between 17:30 and 18:00.
Location: Please be aware that ViewFinder's classroom location is in Winterthur at the following address: Zürcherstrasse 77, (CH-8406). A link can be seen on the right side of this email which will help you find our building. If you're coming into Winterthur by train then you'll want to continue by bus (#1 (to Töss), #5 (to Dättnau), or #7 (to Bahnhof Wülflingen). Step off the bus at "Gaswerk." Continue by foot (in the same direction as the bus traveled) to the nearest pedestrian crossing (50 meters). Cross over Zürcherstrasse (not towards Burger King) and you'll be standing directly in front of our door. Our building is silver with red painted steps.
We have a reservation for the group at Cardinal Ristorante Pizzeria
at 12:15 and you are very welcome to join us there for lunch. If you have special dietary needs, then please feel free to bring your own lunch with you. We will leave the classroom and lock the door during our lunch break, but your personal items will be safe while we are away.
Our Day: The course will take place both indoors and outdoors (presentation/exercises. For this reason, please be sure to dress appropriately and wear appropriate footwear. Check the forecast ahead of time and make sure that you will be comfortable both inside and outside on the course day.
Equipment: You are responsible for bringing your own camera, lens(es), battery, and memory card with you. Check to make sure your batteries are charged up and there is ample space left on your memory card. We will have a mix of different camera's among the participants, and for this reason we advise you to bring your camera manual with you for finding settings which may not be so obvious on the outside of the camera.
Course materials: We will provide each participant with an outline of the course presentation to take home as a reference. If you wish to bring along a notebook - great, otherwise feel free to take notes on the presentation handout.
Thanks again for your registration. We look forward to seeing you on the couse date.
