Event description

Description

The immediacy and versatility of drypoint is unrivaled among intaglio techniques. Drypoint is a non-acid intaglio process that carries on the drawing and printing traditions of the old masters. The first session will focus on mark making techniques for drawing directly on the printing plate. We will also explore the possibilities of adding monoprint and chine-collé to the image.
Drawing may be completed at home during the interval. During the second session, we spend the day experimenting with printing. No previous printmaking experience required.

Please bring:

-Drawing source material (have a completed pencil or ink drawing ready to transfer to the plate)
-Assorted acrylic brushes (optional)
-Shop apron (optional)

This workshop is two Saturdays
