Event description

Dry Fire Drills Level I

Level I of Handgun Basics Dry Fire Drills conducts a review of the basic fundamentals of shooting to include stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, breath control, trigger press, and follow through without live ammunition.

The course then expands on the basic fundamentals by developing the student’s ability to properly draw a handgun from a holster.

What is dry fire? Dry fire is the practice of firing a firearm without ammunition. (That is to pull the trigger on an empty chamber or a chamber with a dummy round (snap cap).

There is no live ammunition used or allowed in the class. Do not bring live ammunition into the classroom.

This class contains no range time (practice at a range using real ammunition).

Why conduct Dry Fire practice? The vast majority (90+%) of your training should be dry fire practice. Dry fire practice can help you become a better shooter. There is no loud noise and there is no recoil. There is no hole in the paper down range to praise or condemn yourself or compare yourself to others. It can be done in your home saving yourself a trip to the range and the fees associated with shooting. You don’t even have to clean the firearm when you are done. Repetition builds muscle memory, and it needs to be done correctly to build the correct neural pathways.

If dry fire practice is not part of your routing training, you need to sign up now.

Course Length: The course length will be approximately 1.5 hours.

What You Need to Bring:

Your firearm

An inside or outside the waist band holster or purse specifically designed for concealed carry. (Serpa Style Holsters are not preferred) *

*The holster should be rigid (does not collapse when the firearm is removed).

A belt designed for use with a holster, this normally consists of a thicker dense belt material with a minimum width of 1.5”. The belt should minimize movement of the holster, offer superior support (holster/firearm should not sag), be comfortable, and durable (made to last).

Snap Caps/Dummy Rounds (minimum of 5)

This class does not meet the requirements for training to obtain a concealed carry license in the State of Florida.

Class will be held in Plant City. Location and Instructions to classroom will be provided after registration and before the class date.

Space is limited so sign up now.

We look forward to seeing you there.
