Drumsistas 2019 Benefit Concert “Women Emerging”

Join us for an evening of African Drumming!

Proceeds to benefit Girls Empowerment Network

If you’ve ever been to a Drumsistas Benefit concert before, you know that you’ll feel the rhythm in your bones as we play Djembes, Djunduns, Krins and other percussion instruments to deliver amazing traditional African Music. Thirty+ women can create some amazing rhythms!

If you’ve never joined us before? We’ll have you dancing in the aisles! Besides an evening of fun and music that resonates in every cell in your body, you’ll also be helping girls excel.

This year, concert proceeds will benefit Girls Empowerment Network (GEN), a nonprofit that ignites the power in girls by teaching them the skills to thrive and believe in their ability to be unstoppable. GEN’s unique programs help girls discover they are powerful people, because societal pressures and the current statics show they don’t always know it, and they are being left behind. Each year, GEN works with thousands of 3rd – 12th grade girls to increase their belief in themselves, using its signature curriculum which girls experience on their school campuses, at summer camps, or at We Are Girls Conferences.

Sherry Gingras and her volunteer all-women group Drumsistas are thrilled to be helping
Girls Empowerment Network help girls discover they are powerful people!

We look forward to seeing you there.

Tickets are available at the door. But, you might want to get ‘em in advance in case we sell out. P.S. Dancing in the aisles is always acceptable!

About Girls Empowerment Network
Girls Empowerment Network (GEN) helps girls discover they are powerful people. Girls are at risk of not reaching their potential, especially if adolescence affects them too adversely. When girls learn and practice skills with GEN, their self-efficacy increases. When they increase their self-efficacy they strengthen their internal belief in their power. When they feel powerful, they can become unstoppable. GEN’s strategic vision is to ignite the power in 86,000 girls by 2020. Learn more at www.girlsempowermentnetwork.org.
