Description

Experience Drumming as a vehicle for social justice. A collaboration between Hana Center’s Korean drumming group and STOP: Southside Together Organizing for Power, experience music and drumming from youth of different backgrounds, who have come together to learn from each other and create a performance that integrates various drumming rhythms and styles that capture the experiences of young people in Chicago. Drumming Up Power aims to build a community and to create spaces for youth across the city to come together to engage with each other, and to equip youth with a shared language and skill that can be employed in future work to demand justice and change in our communities and city.
