Event description
Marc Black Band and special guest Ed Sanders perform at the Colony in Woodstock NY

About this Event

The Marc Black Band and special guest Ed Sanders will take the stage at the Colony to celebrate Spring, to bring together a roomful of like minded folks, and invite the everyone to dance the night away.

Although many know the Marc Black Band for their wildly danceable improvisational rock, Marc has also used his platform as a performer and songwriter to good effect for decades. Songs like ‘No Fracking Way’, ‘I’ll Be Gone’ ’Can You Hear the Children’ and ‘Born Again American’.

In this challenging time, Marc has been working on a song with a longtime friend, bassist Jennifer Condos entitled ‘We Will Sing and Beat the Drum’. Its a call to action that has inspired Marc to put together this show featuring songs of inspiration called ‘The Drum of Peace in Our Time’.

Beside offering a uniquely gifted rhythm section that features Amy Fradon, Eric Parker, Michael Esposito and Don Davis, Marc has also invited world famous poet, social activist, environmentalist and founding member of the Fugs, Ed Sanders, to join in the festivities.

Marc first met Ed many years ago when he was creating a theatrical piece on Karen Silkwood, a chemical technician who died in a very suspicious auto accident when she was gathering evidence about unsafe conditions in nuclear plants. Since that time, Marc and Ed have shared the stage several times. This evening promises to be one to remember.
