Description

Participants who attend both parts of this training that will understand key aspects of drug related harm reduction.

Part 1: Drug Related HIV/HCV/ Harm Reduction introduces HIV and Hepatitis C prevention and treatment strategies that providers can use with people who use drugs. You will learn about the foundations in the philosophy, principles, and practices of harm reduction in the context of the United States. Participants will learn more tools to understand the different types and levels of harm reduction.

Part 2: Drug Related Stigma/Overdose Prevention introduces the concepts of social inequalities faced by people who use drugs, the stigma they experience, and how this impacts their ability to access services. In addition, you will be provided with an in-depth exploration of opiate overdose, prevention strategies and how to respond to an overdose
