Drug Influence Training

This full-day training will teach you how to skillfully recognize and properly evaluate a person under the influence of drugs, understand the 7 step administration of the Drug Recognition Process, use the pupilometers and pen lights, understand drug physiology and pharmacology. This course will help you understand drug identification techniques and methods of use, recognition of drug signs and symptoms, drug paraphernalia, dangers of confronting subjects under the influence, and legal issues. You will understand the requirements for organizing and presenting testimonial and documentary evidence in ‘under the influence’ cases and how drugs impair one’s ability to operate a vehicle. You will gain an in depth understanding of the 8 categories of drugs, and their signs and symptoms.

Target Audience: First responders, Law enforcement, School administrators, Counselors, Educators, Substance use disorder counselors/professionals, Social workers, Family service and in-home care providers,Child welfare workers, Health care providers

Event Presenter, Keith Graves, has been a Police Officer in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1990 and is currently a supervisor for the Special Operations Unit (a unit tasked with narcotic, vice and gang investigations). Keith is a Drug Recognition Expert Instructor (IACP #3292) and teaches both the DRE course and the CNOA Drug Abuse Recognition Course. He has held assignments as a Narcotics/Vice Detective, Training Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, COPPS Officer, Traffic Officer, and SWAT Team Leader. Keith is the 2016 California Narcotics Officer of the year and a prior Mothers Against Drunk Driving Officer of the Year. Keith has taught thousands of officers and businesses around the world about drug use, drug trends, compliance training and drug investigations. Keith is the Founder and President of Graves & Associates, a company dedicated to providing drug training to law enforcement and private industry. He has collected the best minds in drug enforcement to bring cutting edge training to the rest of the world. For law enforcement, Keith teaches every aspect of drug enforcement, from the user on the street to handling explosive and dangerous drug labs.
