Description

Up North Prevention invites you to learn how you can help protect drug endangered children by attending this conference. In addition, you will learn vital information on identifing drugs in the home, learn how to keep yourself safe in while working in these homes, and the legal process for protecting these drug endangered children.

Ignored, abused, and abandoned – these are some of the chronic conditions experienced by children raised in environments where there is substance abuse or illegal drug use, manufacturing, cultivation and distribution.

Learn about drug endangered children and the risks they face.

Learn to identify children living in dangerous drug environments and why intervention is important.

Learn how to keep yourself safe while on home visits: drug awareness, safety concerns, identifying dangers.

Learn the legal aspects of DEC: How to work with the families/children, what to consider when placing charges, the new marijuana laws and it’s impact on DEC and families.

Learn what a multidisciplinary collaborative response looks like.

Learn how to properly administer Naloxone. Each participant will receive a free Naloxone Kit to take.

This Core DEC Awareness training looks at overcoming the challenges in aligning the agencies and systems responsible for preventing, intervening, and treating these issues to change the trajectories of the lives of drug endangered children and break multi-generational cycles of abuse and neglect.
