With more than 27 years in Global Consumer Insights and Strategic Planning, RP specialises in gleaning relevant, actionable, sometimes-hard-to-find, deep Insights from global research projects; and leveraging them to develop brand, communication and marketing strategies for Ketchum’s clients across the world. Further, he is also responsible for building the agency’s capability in these critical skills and teaches these skills to senior leaders across Ketchum’s global footprint. RP has global experience across geographies (New York, Toronto, Dubai, Cairo, numerous cities in India), across categories (Foods, Consumer Products, White Goods, Telco and Technology) and across major global agencies (J. Walter Thompson, Lowe, FCB and now Ketchum Worldwide). Having worked on a number of famous brands for global clients such as Philips, Unilever, Citi, Computer Associates, HP, IBM, AT&T, Kraft Foods, ConAgra, SC Johnson, etc. he has in-depth experience in assessing, articulating and deploying consumer insights and brand strategies across countries and cultures. He is passionately devoted to teaching , is a regular faculty member at Miami Ad School and teaches often at major universities, including University of Chicago’s Booth School of Management and Texas A&M University. RP holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. in Marketing and Strategy. In his free time, he is a Private Pilot who flies all over the North East in a Cessna Cardinal 177B.
Dan Keeler, Frontier Markets Correspondent, Wall Street Journal
Dan Keeler is the editor of WSJ Frontiers, the Wall Street Journal’s editorial section devoted to coverage of the world’s frontier markets. Launched in 2014, WSJ Frontiers brings together a broad range of news and analysis, providing readers with a deeper understanding of some of the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing economies. Prior to joining the Journal Dan was the Editor and subsequently Editor-at-Large of Global Finance magazine, where he steered the magazine’s coverage toward corporate responsibility and emerging markets. He is also founder of New York’s FM Network, a group that hosts gatherings of finance professionals focused on smaller emerging markets. Before taking the reins at Global Finance, Dan served as a freelance editor and writer for various publications, including New York magazine, and provided consultancy and editing expertise for a number of non-profit groups. Through his own content management company, Celerity Media, Dan worked as an editorial consultant in various industries, including private banking.
Craig Charney, President, Charney Research, a survey firm specializing in emerging markets
Craig Charney is a pollster and political scientist with more than two decades’ experience in over 45 countries. He is an expert in strategic communication, democracy promotion, and development evaluation. His clients include leaders in marketing, development, and security, from Samsung and Monsanto, to USAID and the World Bank, and the Defense Department and the International Peace Institute. He helped multinationals develop sales strategies for engineers in China and Vietnam and drivers in South Africa and India. His report on Muslim anti-Americanism for the Council on Foreign Relations helped shape public diplomacy in the second Bush and first Obama administrations. He was called to the White House to present his Afghanistan and Pakistan research in the Afghan strategy review. “If there is an expert on polling in the midst of turmoil, it is Craig Charney,” writes conservative commentator Ryan Sage. Liberal pundit Errol Louis calls him a “super-pollster.”
Alison Graham, President, Voltan Capital, an emerging markets hedge fund
Throughout her career, she has specialized in frontier and early-stage markets, following their development into mainstream emerging markets. In 1995, Ms. Graham joined Caspian Securities, an investment bank dedicated to emerging markets, as a senior equity analyst for Latin America. In 1998, Ms. Graham relocated to Moscow, Russia to join United Financial Group as a senior analyst focusing on Russian equities. Since 2000, she has managed assets and served as a financial advisor to a variety of firms with interests in frontier countries. She spends much of her time conducting on-site company visits in the frontiers and is skilled at trading in low-liquidity environments. Ms. Graham holds a master’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley, is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is fluent in six languages.
