Drop into Art

The Danforth Art Museum and School was established in 1975 by a group of community members who were committed to bringing the arts to Framingham through exhibitions, museum programs, and studio art classes. Danforth merged with Framingham State University in 2018 to become the Danforth Art Museum at Framingham State University and the Danforth Art School at Framingham State University, each continuing to invite the public to see, learn about, create, and be inspired by art.The Museum’s Permanent Collection focuses on American art from the 19th century to the present day. Changing exhibitions feature both historic works and the works of contemporary artists. The Danforth Art School offers studio art classes and workshops for all ages and levels of ability.

<h1>Drop into Art is back!</h1><h3>Drop into Art offers a day of learning and discovery at the Danforth Art Museum every second Sunday of the month. Explore the galleries, be inspired by art, and get creative!</h3><h3>Each month introduces a new theme connecting art, stories, and hands-on fun. Families with children of all ages are welcome. </h3>

<h1> June 13: Beautiful Beasts</h1><h3>Dragons, and Cats, and Bulls, Oh My!  What do you think of when you hear “animal”? What about “beast”? Learn about some of the fantastic creatures on display at the Danforth Museum. See animals stretching in sculptures, prancing in paintings, and curling up in clay, then practice your drawing skills by making combination beasts and interpreting animal phrases. </h3><h3>Registration is requested, but not required.</h3>
