Event description

Description

In its reconsideration of fuel economy standards through MY2025, the Trump administration must reconcile the needs of American consumers, the auto industry, the state of California, and the nation’s energy security. SAFE has identified a path forward that meets the interests of stakeholders via the off-cycle credit program. By accelerating initial mass deployment of emerging autonomous vehicle technologies and other advanced driver assist systems as part of a testing program, industry and regulators can partner to understand the impacts these promising technologies can demonstrate in the real world. With that information, the federal government can help create future regulatory programs that save lives, save fuel, and create regulatory certainty to achieve ambitious fuel efficiency goals. Join us for this exciting conversation.
