How do I get a full license in British Columbia?

Depends which country are you from. If you have more than two years of driving experience in your home country, you may be required to pass a knowledge test and complete a 25-minute road test to qualify for a full driver’s licence in British Columbia.

As of 2025, ICBC fees are as follows:Knowledge Test: $15 CAD,Class 5 or Class 7 Road Test: $50 CAD.

What happend if I fail the knowledge test?

Accepted Answer

You must wait 7 days before taking the test again.Each attempt costs $15 CAD.You can retake it as many times as needed until you pass.

Question 4

What happen if I fail the road test?

Accepted Answer

You must wait 14 days before rebooking your road test for your 1st attempt.  2nd attempt, 30days. 3rd attempt: 60 days — and you will continue with the 60-day waiting period if you keep failing future attempts. Each attempt costs $50 CAD again.
