Description

Chlorine Disinfection - Microbiology 6 TCH's

The main goal of drinking water treatment is to inactivate or kill microbes. Water treatment operators will better understand the disinfection process if they know more about the microorganisms they are trying to control. The morning training session focuses on chlorine disinfection. How does chlorine kill bacteria? What is breakpoint chlorination? What is a good residual to ensure you don’t pick bacteria in the distribution system? Disinfection is a critical water treatment process that we will explore in detail. The afternoon session will discuss the types of microbes in water and how they can be controlled through different disinfection processes. Bring questions and experience stories to share.

This course may be used for water and wastewater treatment operator renewal TCH's - 6 TCH's
