Event description
In this making and discussion based workshop, participants learn how to make an image based tapestry weaving, drawing upon their dreams.

About this Event

In this making and discussion based workshop, participants learn how to make an image based tapestry weaving, drawing upon their dreams for symbolism and inspiration. This is a safe and open space to explore tactile and psychic intuition.

We will share our dreams, exploring their intersections, crossovers, and diversions to create symbols that will be woven and turned into a collective map. Each person will leave with a tapestry weaving and small satchel of mugwort.

One week prior to the workshop, there is an optional invitation to participate in an email chain for sharing glimpses of dreams to see how the collective unconscious manifests in our immediate surroundings.

About the Instructor:

Aimee is an artist, educator, and explorer based in Philadelphia and anywhere. Her work is a testament to interconnectivity and empathy cultivated through the gestural potential of material and ritual. She is meticulously cataloging a Cosmic Library, a composition of peripheral sounds, intuitive objects, and communal actions, all woven together. Her process involves collecting, building, weaving, and listening.

In her studio and teaching practices, she uses collaborative and experiential pedagogies to cultivate intuitive, collective, and empathic sensibilities.

Her Sagittarian desire for constant exploration fuels her current research in semiotics and semantics, dreamwork, nomadic architecture, fermentation, and a plethora of esoteric resources.
