One day, a group of dreamers and artists came together to become Sphaira ("celestial sphere"), a circle that weaves dream catchers and other dreaming items with an aim to create a bridge into the Dreaming, hoping only to be as a light house in the Sea of Dreams.
The artists and dreamers of Sphaira come from a school of dedicated Toltec Artists, Xicoco, that offers classes, workshops, sweat lodges, and other ceremonial circles to the community. They are located in Riverside, CA. Xicoco's resident artist and teacher is Koyote the Blind, a Man of Knowledge and teacher.
Sphaira gives monthly workshops to communities, instructing people of all ages on the creation of dream catchers, and opening the space to share stories, dreams, songs, and music. Sphaira also participates and shares their art in monthly art walks, festivals, and other events.
About the workshop:
The dream catcher class is a hands-on experience. We visually demonstrate each step of the weaving process and guide the participants as they create. As we weave, the space is open for the sharing of stories, songs, and dreams, creating a healing and meditative circle that will benefit the participants in their life path.
Sphaira provides all materials, which include a hand made pepper tree ring, yarn or leather, thread, assorted beads and feathers. At the end of the class participants will take home their dream catcher.
There are no special requirements only ask for your presence and attention. The cost of the workshop is $25 per person.
