We’re bringing together like-minded dreamers to develop and connect at our first-ever Dream Summit! And we want to see you there. Register today for this multi-day event complete with motivational keynotes, interactive workshops and networking that’ll help you gain the confidence you need to fearlessly pursue your dreams. RSVP today to commit to 2.5 days of inspiration — spots are limited! This event is perfect for ages 16 and up.

Event Schedule:

Day 1: Wednesday, October 2nd

9:00-9:30am- Dream Summit Welcome & Breakfast: Join us to fuel the first day of the Dream Summit with a continental breakfast. Grab a bagel, pastry, cup of coffee, and juice and get ready for an inspiring day!

9:30-10:30am- Thoughtfully Fit®: Coach Yourself to More with Darcy Luoma: Just like you’d need to train to run a marathon, you need to train to be Thoughtfully Fit® if you want to take charge of your life and relationships. In this inspiring keynote led by leadership coach, organization development specialist and owner of Darcy Luoma Coaching & Consulting LLC, Darcy Luoma, you’ll learn how to coach yourself to more by building your core, which is PAUSE, THINK, and ACT. And you’ll leave with key takeaways and strategies on how to be thoughtful in every situation so you can achieve better balance, stronger relationships, and more effectiveness at work and at home.

10:45-11:45pm- How to Create A Happy Life: The Science of Goals, Habits, and Change with Pelin Kesebir, Ph.D.: At times, we all feel like there’s a gap between our life as it is and what we want it to be. How can we close that gap to create healthy habits and lasting change? Using the latest insights from psychological science, Dr. Pelin Kesebir from the Center for Healthy Minds at UW-Madison will explore these questions and share with us the tools to create our happiest, most successful lives. You will walk away from this talk with a clearer understanding of what kinds of goals are more likely to result in enduring happiness, and how you can pursue these goals in the most effective ways possible.

  • Option #1- Great Networking Starts with Helping Others with Terry Healy-Lemke: In this interactive workshop lead by Community Outreach Manager at Celerity Staffing and life-long networking expert, Terry Healy-Lemke, you’ll learn how to help yourself achieve your dreams by helping others achieve theirs, discover 10 savvy networking tips and get the chance to practice! Get ready to up your game.
  • Option #2- Journaling for Self-Care, Health and Well-being with Logan Edwards, PhD, CHES: Dreams are powerful — and you can gain strength when you intentionally write about them. Because when you are mindful of your dreams and goals, you become more mindful of your full, holistic self, empowered to take better care of yourself, and therefore, enabled to both visualize and actualize your dreams by focusing on, attending to, and journaling about each dimension of health for optimal well-being. Join Logan Edwards, PhD, CHES to learn how to make journaling an integral part of your self-care, or health-care routine for healthier living and improved dreaming!

1:30-2:30pm- Break-Out Session #2

  • Option #1- The Future of Leadership: Being in the Center, Not at the Top with Todd Hoskins: These days we face economic upheaval, political dysfunction, employee disengagement, social isolation, educational deficiencies, and widespread questions around meaning, purpose, and value. As millions of people tune out, shut down, or arm for battle, many feel too discouraged, powerless, or exhausted to tap into their own power to transform themselves, their communities, families, and workplaces. Where is the leadership we need? Join Todd Hoskins, facilitator, coach, consultant, adviser and founder of Canopy Gap, in an exploration of the perspectives we need to shift, and some of the practices that can help us get there. He’ll take us through what is unique about this moment in time, and distill seven obstacles and seven gateways to transformative leadership.
  • Option #2- Relaxing & Body-Strengthening Yoga with Brittany Waltz: Start feeling happier and healthier with this relaxing, body-strengthening yoga session with Brittany Waltz from Brittany Waltz Yoga LLC. This combination is designed to help you achieve a renewed attitude of mindfulness and gratitude. Yoga newbie? No worries. We will teach you the basics and provide a yoga mat.

2:45-4pm- Discover your Core Values and Change your Life with Tracie Fountain: Everyone has things they strongly believe in and feel are important to the way they live — have you pinpointed yours? Once you’ve identified your core values, making thoughtful decisions and minimizing stress becomes second nature. Join certified life coach and nutritional consultant, Tracie Hittman Fountain, MS, and learn how to redirect the path you’re currently on, prioritize your needs and values, and start living the life you've always dreamed of!

4pm- Closing Day One

9:15-10:30am- Why You Need to Manage Your Energy, Not Your Time with Shilagh Mirgain, Ph.D.: Trying to manage your time often leads to frustration as productivity has less to do with the number of hours you squeeze out of a given day and much more to do with the quantity and quality of your energy. Join Dr. Shilagh Mirgain as she draws from positive psychology and mind-body medicine, to provide empirically supported strategies to help you optimize your energy so you can make the most of the time you have been given. You’ll explore techniques to keep your energy high throughout the day, actively reduce those things that drain your energy, and increase those things that sustain you. You’ll discover how to build a habit of deep work that harnesses your ability to focus without distraction. By implementing this approach, you’ll have the optimal energy to turn your biggest dreams into a reality.

  • Option #1- Dreaming Without Barriers — a Panel Discussion: Achieving your dreams is a huge accomplishment, especially when there are barriers. Diverse perspectives and backgrounds can help inspire creativity, innovation, and engagement in the workplace and in the community. Come join DreamBank and our group of panelists as they share their journey through the lens of diversity & inclusion. You’ll learn how to navigate systems and overcome barriers to get on the path to your dreams from the perspective of D&I. Moderated by American Family Insurance Diversity/Inclusion Project Manager, Tina Bohling. Panelists include: Brian Jones (Diversity/Inclusion Project Manager) and Jay Patel (Institute Venture Capital Analyst) from American Family Insurance, Carla Garces (City of Madison Equal Opportunities Investigator), Izzy Lugo (Urban Misfit Ventures COO), and Ashley Lee (Public Allies Executive Director).
  • Option #2- Interview Preparation, Resume Critique and Headshots: Changing careers or re-entering the workforce? Join this workshop were you can get one-on-one career assistance from some of American Family’s Human Resources representatives. They will be available to help prepare you for interviews and offer advice on your resume. Local photographer Beth Skogen will also be available to snap an updated professional headshot.

  • Option #1- Visualize your Dreams through Canvas Dream Boards with Caitlin Jackson: Create a visual representation of your dreams and goals by making your very own inspirational canvas Dream Board! Join Caitlin Jackson, crafter and co-owner of The Seedy Merchant, as she leads you through the process of painting and assembling the board. The display should change as you grow and as your dreams evolve, so you will create some customized and interchangeable pieces that motivate and inspire you. Leave with a unique piece to hang in your home to help track your accomplishments and serve as an inspiration! *NOTE: This session carries over from break-out session #3.
  • Option #2- How to Have Success in your Career and Relationships with Deborah and Lloyd Biddle: It can be difficult and, at times, seem downright impossible to have success in your personal relationships and career…but it does’nt have to be that way! Join husband and wife, Deborah and Lloyd, as they discuss their journey of managing their personal and professional life. Deborah Biddle is the owner of The People Company LLC and Lloyd Biddle is a preacher, teacher, and leadership development expert. They both worked and owned businesses while raising a family. They will share the frameworks, concepts, and ideas that allowed them to have success in both, so that you can too. *NOTE: This session will carry over into break-out session #5.
  • Option #3- Enneagram Personality Test with Michele Vosberg: Looking to understand how you are wired on a deep level? Join author, international speaker and coach, Michele Vosberg, Ph.D., and learn more about the Enneagram. The Enneagram is a powerful tool for personal and collective transformation. The nine pointed Enneagram symbol represents nine worldviews that resonates with the way people think, feel and act in relation to the world, others and themselves. Get an introduction to all the nine numbers on the enneagram and learn how identifying your number can help increase self-compassion and compassion towards others.

1:30-2:30pm- Break-Out Session #5

  • Option #1- How to Have Success in your Career and Relationships with Deborah and Lloyd Biddle: It can be difficult and, at times, seem downright impossible to have success in your personal relationships and career…but it does’nt have to be that way! Join husband and wife, Deborah and Lloyd, as they discuss their journey of managing their personal and professional life. Deborah Biddle is the owner of The People Company LLC and Lloyd Biddle is a preacher, teacher, and leadership development expert. They both worked and owned businesses while raising a family. They will share the frameworks, concepts, and ideas that allowed them to have success in both, so that you can too. *NOTE: This session carries over from break-out session #4.
  • Option #2- Money to Fuel Your Dreams with Wisconsin Financial Group: Would you pursue a dream if only you had the money to do it? You may be surprised to discover what the real obstacles are that might be holding you back. Join us to explore your dreams and incorporate practical, concrete steps you can take to build the finances you need to pursue them. Hosted by Jennifer Kleckner and Marisa Menzel of Wisconsin Financial Group.
  • Option #3- Certified B Corporations: Vote Every Day To Shape The World: B Corporation Certification is to business what organic certification is to food. Rather than being a product specific certification, B Corp Certification is described by Inc. magazine as the most rigorous measure of an entire company’s social and environmental performance. 4pm- Closing Day Two

9:00-9:15am- Welcome at Breese Stevens Field: Day three of the Dream Summit will be held at Breese Stevens Field weather permitting. Rain location is DreamBank for an abbreviated day.

9:15-9:45am- Be Uncommon: Find and Fulfill Your Mission and Purpose with Janine Stange: Ever feel like you’re spinning in circles? Are you struggling with distractions from your goals? Stuck in a comfort zone? In her talk, American singer, motivational speaker, and on-air personality Janine Stange will help you identify the pitfalls that keep goals hidden in plain sight and share 'life-hacks' to avoid them. Ultimately, Janine helps others uncover their own unique life mission and become inspired to follow it by doing what they can, with what they have, where they are.

9:45-10:45am- Empowering Workout with Canvas Club Boxing & The Barre Code Madison: Jump-start your dream pursuit with an empowering workout led by Melissa Ernst, owner of Canvas Club Boxing, and Kellian Kiron, owner of The Barre Code Madison. Get ready to sweat with a 60 minute workout of cardio, boxing, and functional strength training. Not a fitness guru? No worries! This class is perfect for all levels.

10:45-11:30am- Dream Summit Closing, Networking & Smoothies: Close out the Dream Summit with a refreshing smoothie and time to network with other attendees. We encourage you to chat about what you've learned and what you're dreaming about!

DreamBank Dream Summit FAQs:

Is there any cost to attend?

No, DreamBank-American Family Insurance offers the Dream Summit at no cost to you as a way to share free resources with dreamers throughout the community! However, since we have a limited number of spots available, registration is required.

Do I have to attend all 2.5 days?

Yes! To offer the best experience to all guests, we require attendance for all 2.5 days of learning and inspiration.

What if I sign up, but am unable to attend?

The Dream Summit is a very popular event with limited seats, so please contact DreamBank as soon as you know you’re no longer able to attend. This way, we can make your seat available to the next person on the waitlist. If you register and do not attend on the first day, we will be unable to hold your spot for the remainder of the Dream Summit events.

What if I am unable to participate in a specific event, but plan to attend the entire Dream Summit?

If you are not able to participate in a specific activity due to a special need, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate.

Where is the event held?

The first two days of the Dream Summit will be held right at DreamBank located in the Spark Building at 821 East Washington Ave., Madison, WI 53703. Friday, October 4th will be held about a block away at Breese Stevens Field as long as the weather permits. If the weather does not cooperate, an abbreviated version of the final day will be held at DreamBank. Any location changes due to weather will be communicated to all attendees via email.

What meals are provided?

On days one and two, we will provide a continental breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack for all attendees. On day three, we will provide a smoothie for each guest following the closing keynote address and fitness event. Please list any dietary restrictions in your registration and we will do our best to accommodate.

What if I do not remember which breakout sessions I registered to attend?

No worries! We’ll have you covered with a personalized schedule at check in.

What should I wear?

Please come dressed for comfort and networking with other dreamers. We do not have any specific requirements, but ask that you plan your daily wardrobe and/or a change of clothes based on the breakout sessions that you have chosen.

Do I need to bring anything?

We will provide you will a schedule, journal for notes, a pen, all of the materials needed for each session, food (as outlined above), water, coffee and hot tea throughout — and all the inspiration you need to dream! If there is anything else you need to be comfortable, please check with us or bring those items with you.

Is there an age requirement to attend?

Attendees must be 16 years or older.

Where should I park?

There is a city-owned parking garage directly behind our building on South Livingston Street. The parking ramp typically has a fee of 80 cents per hour. Additionally, street parking can be found on E Main Street to the south and E Mifflin Street to the north, as well as the North-South side streets, but many of these spots are only available for two-hours at a time. As tempting as it may be, we request that you join us in respecting our neighbors across the street by not parking in the Festival Foods lot. Carpooling and using public transportation are encouraged.
