This training provides 4 DRCC Recertification Credits.
Incidents involving active shooters, such as the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the Orlando Nightclub, or in San Bernardino, CA produce unique and complex psycho-social reactions in individuals and communities. This full-day exercise explores a hypothetical active shooter scenario. The exercise will focus on hands-on, role playing opportunities to practice methods of support and intervention.
A short review of Psychological First Aid and Incident Command will also be discussed.
This training runs a total of 4 hours. 9:00am - 1:00pm. You will get one hour for lunch. At the conclusion of this training the Essex County Mental Health Administrator will be holding a 2 hour meeting starting at 2:00pm ending at 4:00pm. You can receive a total of 6 Recertification credits if you attend the full day.
