Event description

Description

Georgia O'Keeffe, Jack-in-Pulpit Abstraction - No. 5

Join us for sketching and conversation in the galleries. In this workshop, explore how twentieth-century American artists working in New York City experimented with abstraction.

Drawing Salon is an adult program hosted by the National Gallery of Art. Led by practicing artists and museum educators, this series of workshops integrates art history and studio art practices. Each workshop focuses on an intimate selection of works, inviting visitors to slow down and join others in discovering the complexity within each work of art.

Workshops are free but advance registration is required. Sketching prompts are designed for all skill levels; beginning and advanced participants are welcome. All drawing materials are provided. Ages 18 and over.
