Event description

Description

In this 6 week course, students ages 10-16 years of age who have an interest in drawing are encouraged to develop and hone their skills further in drawing & illustration. We will learn what illustration is, and refine our skills through a series of projects focusing on the 7 elements of art; Line, Shape, Form, Space, Texture, Value, and Color. Students will study past and present illustrators and examine what separates these artists from the pack. Lastly, student artists will harness their own creative ideas to create meaningful works of art. Any skill level with the passion to create art is welcome to take the course.

About the Instructor
Joe Lippincott has been teaching art to students of varying ability for the last 7 years. He currently teaches art in the Mt. Ephraim School District. He holds both a bachelor’s in illustration and a master’s in education. He believes all students have the ability to be creative, and that becoming better at the craft can be practiced like sports or music. Art is not only about creating an aesthetically pleasing image, but how the artist learns to think critically and problem solve, in their own original way.
