Drawing from Observation with Dorothea Osborn

Tuesdays, April 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and May 1st

from 11am to 2pm (This is a 5 session class)

$190 per student

This class focuses on building fundamental drawing skills. Students will learn basic techniques such as shading, controlling tones, composition and drawing methods. Additionally, we learn how to see with an artist's eye and capture what we see on paper. The class is aimed at teach the most fundamental drawing skills. We will cover the building blocks for creating a drawing. You will learn the differences between contour drawings (line drawings) and drawing using value. Other fundamentals will be taught such as understanding different drawing tools, different techniques for creating value, various paper surfaces for effect, and many other tips and insights. A Supply List will be provided upon registration and supplies are not included in the cost of the class/workshop.

Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
