Free Orchestra Concert

Women’s Orchestra of Arizona invites you to join us for “Drama Queen and Kings,” a concert of dramatic music by extraordinary composers. The concert is on Sunday, October 23, 2022, 3:00 P.M. at Ascension Lutheran Church in Paradise Valley. Enjoy Egmont Overture Op. 84 by Beethoven, Symphony No. 8 in B Minor by Schubert, and Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A Major, featuring Kristin Fray, Arizona native and principal clarinetist of MusicaNova Orchestra. Another highlight of the concert is Khodahafez, composed by Florence Anna Maunders, the recipient of numerus prizes and international awards for her compositions, including being the winner of this orchestra’s Composition Competition in 2019.

WOA believe that Music is priceless and for everyone. Therefore, we charge no admission fee for our concerts. Instead, we operate on a "pay what works for you" model. Concertgoers decide after the performance how much to pay for the experience and pay as they exit."

About The Women's Orchestra of Arizona

WOA, the Women’s Orchestra of Arizona, was founded in 2016 to provide musical opportunities to empower women musicians and to benefit the greater community. As the second all-women’s orchestra in the US (after Cleveland’s Women’s Orchestra), we look to bring hope and opportunity to all aspiring female musicians in the community.

The orchestra welcomes members from all walks of life who are looking to play in a musically stimulating yet supportive environment. The orchestra is made up of high school students, retired musicians, teachers, healthcare practitioners, and players from as young as 15 to the age of 70.
