Dragonmead's Vegan food and Beer Pairing Event

Tuesday February 26th 6:30-8:30

Welcome Course:

Pint Castlebrite Apricot Wheat-this Apricot Ale uses an apricot puree to bring about this wonderfully refreshing brew. This beer starts with a subtle sweetness and slight apricot flavor, and finishes with a palate-cleansing tartness. 5.7% ABV

Course 1:

Dragonslayer Altbier-The great German brewing tradition began before the advent of refrigeration. Before they were able to do lagers and Pilsners, the Germans did fine ales. This Altbier (or Old Style Beer) is brewed with three different malts and on addition of Spalt hops to create a smooth coppery colored beer that goes down easy. 5.6% ABV

Creamy Vegan Queso-Cashew nut based cheese sauce served with Mexicantown tortilla chips

Course 2:

Holy Hand Grenade- This beer is a mix of two of our favorites our Ring of Fire ale which is made with fresh Jalepeno, Habenero and Serrano peppers. The peppers are added to the boil kettle and into fermentation tanks at a rate of one pound of peppers per barrel of beer 7% ABV. Mixed with Bishop Bob’s Holy Smoke which is a Bamberg-style Rauchbier. This beer relies on a light bock recipe for its base and contains imported smoked barley. 4.9% ABV

Kung Pao Cauliflower-Sweet and spicy fried cauliflower with fried rice

Course 3:

Nagelweiss Wheat-German style wheat beer with 60% malted wheat and is balanced with Hallertau hops. This beer is brewed using the traditional decoction method giving it a wonderful malt flavor which balances the hops and clove esters. 5.1% ABV

Italian Sausage Hoagie-Grilled Beyond Meat Sausage with peppers and onions, topped with tomato relish in a homemade pretzel bun

Course 4:

Sin Eater-One of the most elusive of the Belgian styles. Dark, sweet and rich with notes of caramel, raisins and dark fruit. This style was consumed by Belgian monks to help them make it through the long cold winters. Not for the faint of heart since this brew goes beyond Final Absolution all the way to removing your sins. ABV 11%

Johnny Apple Cake-Moist maple-soaked apple cake topped with ground walnuts

Complimentary tour of the brewhouse to follow
