Event description

Description

Drag Queen Story Hour is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models.

Children with disabilities are welcome at any DQSH event, but DQSH for Kids With Autism & Other Special Needs has the needs of children with ASD and other special needs in mind by design. Read more about what makes these events accessible at www.lineupthebooks.com/dqsh.

Februrary's theme is colors! Our featured queen, LIL MISS HOT MESS, will be reading three amazing books: Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin, Dog's Colorful Day: A Messy Story about Colors and Counting by Emma Dodd, and Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh.

We will also do a simple coloring craft and practice mixing colors with Play-Doh.

The social story for this event is available via this link.

DQSH for Kids With Autism & Other Special Needs is sponsored by Drag Queen Story Hour, Line Up The Books, and The New York Public Library. It is the generous financial support of the NYPL that makes these programs possible.
