Music by emigre Hollywood composers of the 40s (and modern homages to them) in a combo concert of classical chamber music and crossover movie works:

  • "Deux Pieces" for cello and piano and"Cabaret" for soprano and piano by Oscar nominee Alexandre Tansman (Paris Underground);

  • "Homage to Paderewski" and Film Study #1: Charles by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (over 150 films, including And Then There Were None);

  • "Profiles" #1 (Op. 68) by Ernest Toch (Ladies in Retirement);

  • "Invitation--A Study for Piano" (arr. from the film"Invitation" by Oscar winner Bronislaw Kaper (Mutiny on the Bounty);

  • "Tanzlied des Pierrot" from Die Tode Stadt, arr., by Erich Korngold (Sea Hawk);

  • Mazurka by Artur Malawski;

  • Songs from famous movies by Kaper and Henryk Vars (Flipper);

  • arrangements from Polaski's Ninth Gate and Bram Stoker's Dracula by Wojciech Kilar;

Plus, in case you missed E4TT's SRO "Film Noir Project" last spring: "Duo" by Lennie Moore and "Elegy for David Raksin" by E4TT's own David Garner.

Musicians: Nanette McGuinness, soprano, Anne Lerner-Wright, cello, and guest pianist Karen Rosenak.
