The transformative discussion with Hill and Mashonda will center on having and maintaining healthy families experiencing divorce, separation, and disruption. We explore ways to Blend, as we reconfigure our families in a way that is positive and life-affirming—through mindfulness, love and creating and environment in which our children/teens/families can thrive. We will discuss real and uncomfortable issues penetrating our communities and threatening our children.

Hill Harper has an impressive resume as an accomplished actor, author, businemman and Harvard attorney and added father to that resume when he adopted his son. Mashonda Tifrere, avid art collector, songwriter, philanthropist change agent, and author of BLEND. They will sit-down with Dr. TEA to share and have critical conversations on the joys and challenges of co-parenting and on how to survive and thrive when a crisis comes to our families.

The number of first time marriages that end in divorce and the high percentage of remarriages has reshaped what family means. Statistics show that one in three Americans is now a step-parent, stepchild, or has a step-sibling. Mashonda Tifrere, who coparents her son Kasseem with his father, Swizz Beatz, and his wife, Alicia Keys, will share tips and techniques for creating a life-affirming approach to processing the end of one relationship and the rebirth of a new familial dynamic with the well-being of children at its center.

Hill Harper award-winning actor, best-selling author and philanthropist, currently stars as Dr. Marcus Andrews on TV’s #1 new drama, The Good Doctor on ABC and host of HLN’s How It Really Happened with Hill Harper Harper.

Dr. Traci Alexander

Moderator

Dr. Traci Alexander, affectionally known as Dr. TEA, is an award-winning journalist who has worked in the media industry for over thrity years. The first African-American woman to anchor ABC evening News in Central Louisiana she has conducted interviews with icons such as former President Barack Obama, Aretha Franklin, Alice Walker to name just a few. The executive producer of Book Talk and Read she will moderate the discussion.
