Event description

Description

Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Boulevard in most major cities in the USA (including Baltimore) is often associated with many of the stereotypes that contradict Dr. King's Beloved Community concept (e.g. crime, poverty, racial inequality, unemployment, and violence). If shortly after he won the Nobel Peace Price, Dr. King got the opportunity to travel forward in time to 2017 to see how things have changed, what would he think of the very streets that were named after him?

In response to this question, the Baltimore FEB Equal Employment Opportunity Diversity & Inclusion Council presents our 4th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Interfaith Diversity and Inclusion Remembrance Program and Brunch. This year's theme is: "Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard - A Road to the Dream of our Beloved Community". During this event, government employees and leaders, faith leaders, and community leaders will come together and discuss the answer to this question and more.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 10:00am - 2:00pm at Martin's West. Doors will open at 9:30am for registration check-in and access to exhibitors. The general registration cost is $55, and includes a full brunch, plenary sessions, discussion panel, and access to exhibitors. This event is related to Executive Order 13583 which mandates that federal agencies provide diversity and inclusion training programs and events.
