Fri, May 5, 2017, 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM BST
RFT is a powerful and elegantly simple theory that can make a real difference to your work in terms of the precision, speed and focus.
Fun? Fulfilling? Fantastic?! These are words that you won’t often find in the same sentence as RFT. But this talk will aim to do that by giving simple and engaging introduction to RFT, outlining the basic components of the model and some of the ways these can inform your practice. If you’ve ever wanted to find out about RFT but have been too afraid to ask – then this is the talk for you.
In this talk you will learn:
- About the cutting edge contextual behavioural science account of language and cognition
- The ways language changes the function of stimuli and alters human behaviour in unhelpful ways
- How to make intentional use of language to increase therapeutic impact with precision
Joe is a consultant clinical psychologists and is a highly experienced CBT and ACT therapist, researcher, and trainer.
