Description
Recapturing the Magic at Lost Tree Club
Club & Resort Business’ Design & Renovation Insights seminar series presents on-site, one-day workshops that provide exclusive, inside looks at successful renovation and expansion projects.
Monday, October 14
Lost Tree Club, North Palm Beach, FL
(presented in conjunction with the CMAA Florida Chapter)
The Lost Tree Club was founded in 1961 as an exclusive, member-owned private club and residential community. The combined appeal of the club’s prime location in Florida’s Palm Beach County and its full complement of amenities quickly grew membership to over 500 members, and Lost Tree’s reputation for impeccable service earned it Platinum Level distinction as one of the country’s top-rated clubs and residential communities. After a series of additions and remodelings over the years, however, Lost Tree’s facilities began to succumb to age and stress. As the club approached its 50th anniversary, the need for a comprehensive facilities upgrade became clear, to create a cost-effective and code-compliant clubhouse facility that retained the visual appeal and understated elegance and charm that Lost Tree had become known for.
C&RB’s Design & Renovation Insights workshop at The Lost Tree Club will give club managers and their Board members the opportunity for an exclusive, first-hand look at the dramatic transformation of the club’s facilities through a $21 million project, and to hear details from all of the principals involved on how the renovation plan was conceived and executed.Specific project aspects to be highlighted in the workshop will include:
• Maximizing available space and replacing five buildings (used to house the functions of Clubhouse Social, Golf Operations, Locker Rooms, Administrative and Golf Cart Storage) with one new building
• Raising the main level of the clubhouse building by six feet, to maximize views of the golf course and conceal back-of-house spaces
• Redesigning dining venues to provide maximum flexibility for
accommodating various-sized groups in comfortable private rooms, with retractable portable millwork wall panels providing the ability to create space for larger functions
• Utilizing an “island classical” design theme with proportions, detailing and materials, to help the Clubhouse blend in with neighborhood homes
• Insights into the budgeting, financing and construction management processes that led to on-time and accurately costed completion of the project while working around the existing operation
Registration for the one-day event is $125. Attendance will qualify for CMAA CMI Workshop credits.
