Description

A memorial concert honoring the late Dr. Daniel I. Palant, who was an extraordinary friend and leader of Project STEP. The concert features the student musicians of Project STEP and esteemed mezzo soprano singer Kelley O'Connor accompanied by Douglas Sumi. This concert is free and open to the public. All donations to Project STEP will be contributed to Dr. Palant's memory.

About Dr. Daniel I. Palant:
Daniel I. Palant was an early supporter of STEP and remained a steadfast advocate for the program's mission. Dr. Palant resided and practiced pediatric medicine in Lexington, MA. Known fondly as "Dr. Dan," his life was built around caring for children. Dr. Dan not only dedicated himself to his practice, but also was also active in and supported the Boy Scouts of America, the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, Project STEP, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.

Dr. Daniel I Palant passed away this past August. He is the beloved husband of Barbara (Waldman) Palant, father of William Palant and partner Beom Hee Lee of Seoul, Korea, Stefanie and husband Thomas Sinks of Michigan, and Jonathan Palant and husband Mark Mullaney and "proud papa" of their children Noah and Caroline of Texas. He was the son of William Palant and Minnie (Hoffman) Palant and brother of Linda Urbanowicz. He leaves behind many cherished cousins and extended family.
