Dr. Burma & Sensible Shoes' Benefit Dance for Headrest
Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 8:30 PM to 12:00 PM (EDT)
White River Junction, VT
Dust off your shoes and join us for a GREAT time dancing the night away to the music of Dr. Burma and their friends, Sensible Shoes, at the American Legion Hall in White River Junction.
Dr. Burma has been playing its unstoppable mix of classic soul, blues, funk and originals for enthusiastic audiences all over New England for twenty years. Time flies when you're having fun!
Dynamic vocals, stellar musicianship, and an irresistible groove have built their reputation as one of the area's premier rhythm & blues dance bands, playing clubs, concerts, festivals and parties throughout northern New England and New York. During that time the band has opened concerts for B.B. King, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Commander Cody, has performed with Fontella Bass, and had the honor of backing Bo Diddley on two of his tours through New England.
Sensible Shoes has been one of Vermont's favorite dance bands for over twentyyears, playing a funky mix of original music and covers. They play eclectic original music as well as a mix of American songs drawn from blues, soul, folk, country, and New Orleans R&B. Their ASCAP award-winning songwriting can be heard in major motion pictures including "Philadelphia" and "The Manchurian Candidate."
