Downtown Ripon Summer WineWalk

About this event

The Downtown Ripon Summer WineWalk, which is sponsored by Brad Tagliapietra American Family Insurance, is scheduled to take place from 5:30 to 8:30 pm on Friday, August 6th.

The event will feature a selection of wines from around the world. Attendees may sample up to 20 different wines throughout the evening. Participating businesses include: Adeva, Alexandria Games, American Alchemy, American Family Insurance, Back Porch Gatherings, Chic Tique, Deja Vu Boutique, Diedrich Jewelers, Dig Garden Store, Farrell's Fine Furnishings, Fiddler Creek, Hair Today, Hamilton's Ladies Apparel, Hart Mercantile, Imagineers, IslandTree Discount, J's BBQ, Knuth Brewing Company, Modernista, Patina Vie, Ripon Commonwealth Press, and Soul Patina. Check back for updates.

Numerous businesses will be open late during the event to provide you with an adequate dose of shopping therapy. Businesses are also open to non WineWalkers. Tickets will be available through Eventbrite, and a link will be provided in Summer 2021. Tickets for the 2020 WineWalk will be honored for this event, and refunds are available.

We are extremely grateful for the assistance and support of our sponsor, Brad Tagliapietra American Family Insurance, as well as all of the businesses that host the wine tasting stations. The health and well-being of our attendees and business owners is our top priority. For the safety of the participants and our merchants, we ask that you adhere to proper social distancing recommended guidelines, and cooperate with any guidelines or restrictions merchants have in place at their establishment. Check-In:

Tickets may be redeemed beginning at 1:00 pm at Ripon Chamber/Main Street office (114 Scott Street) on the day of the event. WineWalkers will start the evening at the Ripon Chamber/Main Street office, where they will receive a badge which is good for up to 20 wine tastes throughout the evening. No alcohol will be served before 5:30 pm.

Each guest will plan their adventure, proceeding to desired businesses; and may enjoy tasting one ounce of a red and/or white wine. Downtown Ripon shops and restaurants are open to the general public of all ages during this event. Wine is not permitted outside of the participating businesses. This is a Rain-or-Shine event. Proceeds will benefit Ripon's events, festivals and and downtown beautification projects.

Rules

• Attendees must be 21 and over. Please bring ID with you. Must be present to receive your wristband. Photo ID will be checked and wristband will be applied at time of check-in.

• Badges must be marked by servers.

Tips

• Avoid waiting in line by picking up your materials starting at 1:00 pm on August 6th.

• Choose your route in advance to avoid getting separated from your group.

• Wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, since you'll be walking outdoors between locations.

• If you make purchases during some of the great sales on the route, ask the business about picking up your purchase when you complete the walk or the next day.

• Be sure to eat lunch during the day to avoid drinking on an empty stomach. Some locations on the route will also have food available to sample or purchase.

• Post photos to Instagram and Facebook using hashtag #riponwi

• Cross the streets at crosswalks.

• Bring your ID.

• Manage your alcohol intake; we reserve right to refuse serving anyone who appears to be intoxicated.

Ripon Main Street, Inc. is a non-profit economic development and marketing organization established to support the interests of downtown property and business owners. Created in 1988 through private sector leadership, Ripon Main Street guides the revitalization of Ripon's central business business district, representing approximately 75 property owners and over 100 businesses. Main Street's goal is to enhance the quality of life of our community by creating a vibrant downtown business district.

The Ripon Chamber of Commerce harnesses the power of hundreds of area businesses, associations, professionals and nonprofits; the creativity, innovation and efforts of community and business leaders; and the strength of people and businesses working together to continually strengthen Ripon's economy and livability. We embrace a multi–pronged mission. We work to support, engage and better area businesses and nonprofits; we establish and promote area events and programs designed to drive and boost Ripon's economy; we connect members with each other and with community needs; and we analyze and bring forward strategic plans to bolster chamber services and promote Ripon as lively and engaging community in which to live, visit, work and do business.
