Dog-Friendly Durham hosts three-hour food and walking tours of Downtown Durham for folks that love dogs (and food!), and supports local animal shelters and rescues in doing so.
Tour partipants will:
- Enjoy an afternoon walking around downtown Durham with a foster dog from our partner organization and a local tour guide
- Eat and sample up to four appetizers or signature menu items at local dog-friendly restaurants
- Enjoy and taste test Durham's local craft beer, and indulge in a cocktail from a local restaurant
- Learn about Durham's history, and experience why we were rated the South's Tastiest Town
This event has a limited number of registrations--so when registration is full, be sure to sign up for the "wait list."
(Also, if you can't make this date, but are interested in future events, please register for the free "keep me updated" ticket! We'll keep in touch as we plan future events!)
This tour provides two opportunities: bring-your-own-dog or get-paired-with-a-foster-dog (make sure to follow us on Facebook for adorable photos of those dogs!). One ticket is for one person, so couples that want to come with together, you'll have to purchase two tickets.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
As we'll be patronizing local bars, for this tour, we do ask that all participants be 21+.
Where will be going?
Great question! We work with a variety of dog-friendly bars and restaurants and will finalize a schedule 48 hours in advance of the event (or sooner!). Expect updates from us on this regard (follow us on Facebook!).
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We'll be meeting across the street from Beer Durham at the intersection of Hunt Street and Morris Street. There's a free weekend parking lot adjacent to Beer Durham (our last stop), which is just above Central Park. The Bull City Connector and other City Buses will drop off close to Central Park. There is a bike rack at Central Park, as well.
What is the refund policy?
As we work with restaurants and dog rescue groups, we will not process any refunds requested in the 72 hours leading up to the event. For this event, we will not process any refund requests after Wednesday, June 8, at 12 noon. (C'mon, though, it's not likely you'll want/need a refund... think of the DOGS!)
