A night of impassioned blues and soul.

Bob Stannard...well, there are no words, just come catch this talent and let his infectious energy and music carry you away. He is backed by a playful and wickedly talented group of musicians and we overjoyed to welcome him back to the Opera House Stage.

Downtown Bob Stannard and those Dangerous Bluesmen certainly know how to put on a show! We still remember the robust audience participation the last time Bob and his merry pile of expert musicians graced the VOH stage in 2015! We suggest getting your tickets early for this one!

and musical talent that will mesmerize you.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

BOB STANNARD: Bob Stannard began playing harmonica in 1969 and has since earned a reputation as one of Vermont’s premier Bluesman.  Known for his outrageous outfits his performances are always high-energy shows leaving his fans wanting for more.

Bob has performed with some of the greatest Blues players of all time including the King of the Blues; the late BB King, Charlie Musselwhite, John Hammond, David “Honey Boy” Edwards, Mark Hummel, Sara Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irions, Jonathan Edward and author, Stephen King.  Accomplished Grammy Award winning pianist, the late David Maxwell, played on two of Stannard’s albums.

His band consists of some of the best Blues musicians in Vermont and together they put out a sound that inspires folks to get off their chairs and dance in the aisle.

The Vergennes Opera House
A restored 1897 theater in the heart of one of Vermont's most
unique and vibrant downtowns.
General Information
The historic Vergennes Opera House, on the second floor of the 1897 Vergennes City Hall, was restored through a major effort by hundreds of individuals, businesses, and foundations beginning in 1993. A grand re-opening in 1997 welcomed the public back into the historic community space. Since then the Opera House has played host to many fine theater productions, concerts by local, national and international performers across the genres, community gatherings, high school dances and weddings and celebrations of all kinds. 

With a full calendar of year-roundr round, the Vergennes Opera House provides entertainment, arts and cultural activities with truly something for everyone.
