Workshop Information:

In many units, student workers are an essential part of a unit’s organization and success.  This workshop will cover how to be a successful supervisor to your student worker and how to deal with common issues that arise with student workers, so that the experience is successful for everyone.

Presenter: Ulises Velasco

As an undergraduate at Columbia University, Ulises Velasco worked as a student employee between 2004-2006. In 2010 he moved to Arizona and got a position working in the financial aid office at ASU. By 2011, Ulises was a Financial Aid Counselor and  worked closely with student workers providing customer service. In 2012, he became responsible for overseeing the hiring, supervising and training of 23 student workers and four full-time staff.
