Downton in Downtown:
AN EVENING WITH THE CRAWLEYS
A FREE Downton Abbey Season 4 Screening Event
Join the MPB Foundation for Downton in Downtown! Featuring two screenings of the first hour of Downton Abbey: Season 4, high tea, a photo booth, a raffle hosted by the MPB Foundation, and more!
Tickets are available for a screening at 4 p.m. and a second screening at 7 p.m. In between the screenings, guests will have an opportunity to enjoy a Downton Abbey-inspired high tea and cocktails, take photos at the photo booth, and enter a raffle, hosted by the MPB Foundation, for a prize full of Downton Abbey goodies, including t-shirts, books, holiday ornaments, and more.
We hope to see you here, and don't forget to watch the season premiere of Downton Abbey: Season 4 on MASTERPIECE January 5th at 8:00 PM on MPB TV.
Where is the event, and where can I park?
The event is being held at the Mississippi Museum of Art in downtown Jackson. Directions can be found here. Parking for the museum is available in adjacent lots, as well as on the street. More information on where to park can be found here.
How much does the event cost?
The screening is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, but RSVPs are absolutely encouraged! Tickets for this event have sold out historically; should we sell out again this year, we will NOT be able to accomodate at-the-door ticket sales.
All attendees will be able to enjoy a complimentary English high tea with snacks, and will receive one drink ticket to redeem for a signature cocktail, glass of wine or beer of your choice.
How long is the screening?
The screening is the first 60 minutes of Downton Abbey: Season 4, Episode 1. The high tea, offered in between the two screenings, is available between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Can I dress up in costume?
Of course! Downton Abbey fans are incredibly creative, and we LOVE seeing everyone in costume! We will have a photo booth available for costumed fans to take photos. For those not in costumes, props will be provided so you can take a few fun photos too!
If I come to the first screening, can I stay for the second?
As much as we would love to have you, limited seating and availability of tickets means that we cannot accommodate people for both screenings. We will be checking tickets to ensure only those who purchased tickets for a specific screening are seated. We apologize for the inconvenience.
How do I enter the raffle? How many times can I enter?
The raffle is hosted by the MPB Foundation. Guests can enter the raffle by purchasing a $15 ticket when registering for the event, or at the event itself. Guests can purchase as many tickets as they wish. There will be four drawings done. You do not have to be present to win, but you do have to check in at the event. You can only win once.
Rules and Regulations can be found below.
How much does the high tea and cocktails cost?
High tea, including finger foods, is free to all attending guests. Guests will be given one drink ticket to redeem for a signature cocktail, created specifically for the evening, or for a glass of wine or beer of your choice. After the drink ticket, drinks will cost the listed menu prices, ranging $6 - $7 for mixed drinks and $4 - $7 for wine and beer.
How much does the photo booth cost?
The photo booth will cost $5 per group, per photo. You can go to the photo booth as many times as you would like. You will recieve a printed copy of your photo at the event.
Will the Mississippi Museum of Art be open?
Yes; guests will be able to enjoy the free exhibit portion of the Mississippi Museum of Art while at the screening. You can also shop at The Museum Store.
