If you are unable to sit on the ground at all, that's fine too. It is recommended to have a towel or small blanket to cover the legs while meditating.

What is Chan Meditation

Chan (called "zen" in Japanese) is a central practice of Mahayana Buddhism. Chan is a word originated from the Sanskrit word Dhyana. It means "concentration", "stillness contemplation" or "thought cultivation". We follow the tradition of Wei Yang Chan school lineage, one of five Chan schools transmitted by Grand Dharma Master Hsuan Hua.

If you want to buy Chan Handbook, it's available with a discount. You can buy from Amazon or this eventbrite page. We can ship the book to your address. Email to chanpureland@gmail.com. The fund will be donated to Lu Mountain Temple to support meditators and free classes.
