Does your company ship hazardous materials?

Your employees are required to have hazmat training, and we make it easy!

These employees include but are not limited to:
Those that prepare hazmat for transportation, load, unload, drive trucks that contain hazardous material and any other employees that are defined by USDOT as a "hazmat employee."

This 1 Day Class is comprised of two parts:

Part 1: Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG)
Learn how to read and use the North American Response Guidebook used by first responders and industry in the event of a hazardous materials incident. Satisfies both USDOT and OSHA hazmat awareness requirements.

Part 2: Initial/Recurrent Hazmat Employee Training
USDOT requires hazmat employees that can affect hazardous material safety to receive general awareness and security hazmat training as cited in 172.704 within 90 days of employment or change in their job function.

What's in the course:

  • Demonstrate how to use the North American Response Guidebook (ERG Guide)

  • How DOT defines hazardous material

  • Applicability of the hazmat rules

  • The 9 hazard classes

  • Recognize shipping paper information and format

  • Introduction to the 172.101 hazmat table

  • Basics of marking and labeling packages

  • Placarding a transport vehicle

  • Loading/unloading hazmat

  • Separation and segregation of hazardous materials

  • Driving and Parking rules for hazmat

  • Incident reporting requirements

  • Security awareness

  • And more!

  • Trucking companies - General freight, Cargo tank, hazmat transporters

  • Package delivery companies

  • CDL truck drivers

  • Office personnel who prepare shipping papers for transportation

  • Warehouse personnel

The Emergency Response Guidebook class is good for anyone that is a hazmat employee (including first responders) who may have to respond to a hazmat incident.

Upon successful completion of the class, the students will be awarded 2 certificates of completion:

1. Certificate of completion for use of the Emergency Response Guidebook

2. DOT hazmat safety and security awareness training (cfr 172.704).

  • Hazardous Materials regulations book

  • Class Workbook

  • Test

Class Information:

  • Casual attire.

  • Lunch and materials are included.

  • Ticket price is for each person to attend class.

  • A laptop computer or smartphone device with internet access is allowed and recommended.
