About this event
About the play: Sparks fly when Zan, an angry high school student, is forced to work off his community service assignment while helping Dorothy, an ailing librarian. But each of them might just have what the other needs if only they can find the words.
Dorothy's Dictionary is about how good books, careful listening, true friendship and kindness can help you chart your course in life even when you are really, really lost.
This award-winning play is written by E.M.Lewis and directed by Micki Selvitella. Featuring performances by Lori Van Dreal as Dorothy, and Benicio Delgado as Zan.
Lori Van Dreal (Dorothy) has a BA in theatre and several commercial and short film credits. Her last favorite role was Madame Volange in Bag and Baggage's Dangerous Liaisons. Prior to moving to Portland, she spent many years acting in Salem while running a high school drama program.

She is a Fulbright scholar (Taiwan), a graduate of the Yale School of Drama, and holds a MFA in directing from Ohio University. She is currently composing her first musical.
