Event description

Description

The Don't Get Hacked seminar series is a classroom-style community training in basic skills to avoid or mitigate the risks of being a victim of phishing, malware, or privacy violations as a result of security breaches at the businesses or organizations you engage with.

The training will include an overview of how many of these kinds of commonplace attacks work, including real-world demonstrations of malicious activity, such as targeted spam, and the techniques you can use to identify and avoid the worst consequences of these types of attacks.

This is the third and last scheduled Don't Get Hacked session for the fall, 2018 semester at CU Boulder. Each session takes place at the Blow Things Up Lab, which is on the first floor of the Roser ATLAS building on the CU campus.

Admission to DGH is free, but space in the BTU lab is tight with a limited number of seats, so please register only for events you plan to attend.

The organizer welcomes suggestions for topics to cover, and questions that can be addressed during the presentation. Please feel free to email those questions in advance to DGH {at} herdbots [dot] org
