About this Event

This important panel discussion will explore the art of start-up fundraising by bringing together different lenses on how to raise money for your organization. From Angel Investor and entrepreneur Brandon Webb, to strategist and for-profit fundraiser Alda Karen, to non-profit fundraising expert Rob Hanson; these voices will offer you insights and best practices in navigating the ever-evolving investment capitol landscape. No matter your growth stage or business model, these thought leaders will lend their time and expertise to pushing you towards your next stage.

Alda Karen

Alda Karen sold her first sponsorship at 13 years old, became the Marketing Director for the biggest production company Sagafilm (Interstellar, Star Trek) at 19 years old. Then went on to become a partner and the VP of sales and marketing for social media influencer platform Ghostlamp and helped raise $2 million within their first year of creating revenue. Along those two companies she ran a sales and marketing consultancy and has consulted on over 100+ projects in the last 7 years. She then joined SQUAD Ventures who have raised $35,5M in the last two years. Alda has worked on marketing campaigns with brands such as Puma, Coca-Cola, Subway, Converse, LilSpace, H&M and more. With over 9+ years experience in marketing and 3+ years experience in fundraising Alda has been on both sides of the table and now helps young startups raise their voice in a big, loud marketing world.

Since then, he has worked at all levels of nonprofits and has served on numerous nonprofit boards. As a Development Director, Rob raised funds from leading New York City foundations and ultimately joined the Robin Hood Foundation, where he worked for five years.
