Donna Goll Allen Diabetes Symposium 2017: Living in Harmony With Diabetes

This biennial symposium was created in honor of Donna Goll Allen, a young woman who passed away in her journey with diabetes. The purpose of the symposium is to promote a better understanding of diabetes and its complications for current and future healthcare professionals to improve the quality of life for people living with diabetes.
Healthcare providers including nurses, dietitians, case managers, pharmacists, social workers, physicians, physical therapists and occupational therapists who care for people living with diabetes.
Continential Breakfast and Lunch are included in the price of admission.

- Understand the impact that diabetes has on stroke and other neurologic conditions and outcomes.
- Understand the effects of diabetes on the heart.
- Learn your roll in identifying potential problems of the diabetic foot.
- Identify the direct link between exercise and lower blood sugar baselines/A1c's over time.
- Develop one counseling message or strategy about sodium, blood pressure or food choices you can use in your practice for patients with hypertension.

Criteria for Successful Completion:
Attendance of the entire event is required. Evaluations will be completed and ONA certificate available at www.advocatehealth.com/nurse.
