Galeria de la Raza presents ¿Donde Esta Mi Gente? is a Latino Poetry and Spoken Word Festival. Organized and curated by writer, performer Baruch Porras-Hernandez. This event brings together 22 Latino writers from all over the bay area. The voices of the writers span many generations, identities, sexualities, and a wide variety Latino backgrounds, including Panamanians, Salvadorians, Puertoricans, Chicanos, Central and South Americans, and Mexicans. With a special appearance by Alejandro Murguia the Poet Laureate of San Francisco, the legendary writer performance artist Gullermo Gomez Peña, poet musician Avotjca (Avacha) and many more, this event will be an exciting part of National Poetry month in San Francisco and celebrate Latino poetry for 3 days in 3 different spaces, all in one city, San Francisco!
Saturday, April 19th is the third and final night of the festival at Galería de la Raza.

Founded in 1970, the Galería is a non-profit community-based arts organization whose mission is to foster public awareness and appreciation of Chicano/Latino art and serve as a laboratory where artists can both explore contemporary issues in art, culture and civic society, and advance intercultural dialogue. To implement our mission, the Galería supports Latino artists in the visual, literary, media and performing art fields whose works explore new aesthetic possibilities for socially committed art.
