Event description

Description

Join this first-of-its-kind live workshop and learn to Be the Master!

Don Jones presents this full-day workshop based on his top-selling book. In it, you'll learn how to throw off the toxic relationship many of us have with the "teacher/student" relationship, and learn to make learning and teaching a central part of your everyday life. In ways both big and small, you'll learn to help yourself achieve your own success, and learn to use that to bring others along after you.

This is a distinctly hands-on workshop, guiding you through the principles and practices of Don's "The Grind" methodology. You'll work together to Define Your Success, to Define Yourself, and to Find Your Apprentice Audience. You'll learn about the simple weekly program you can use to bring improvement to your own life, and to the lives of those around you. You won't just be sitting in a room listening to a lecture all day. This workshop has no slides and is designed to be continually interactive. But you won't be hauled up on stage (there is no stage, in fact) and made to speak in front of people, either - this'll be entirely within the comfort zone of any lifelong introvert.

I've been in a sales position for most of my adult life... and in my 60s it's been starting to wear on me. I realized after reading your book that "my success" was now in helping other people learn to be great salespeople. So I've just quit my job and I'm now working with a sales training firm. I couldn't be happier - thank you. - Will T.

This workshop is limited to just 20 participants, each of whom will receive a copy of Be the Master (Second Edition), "The Grind" Workbook, and a satisfying lunch that includes Vegan and gluten-free options. Please enjoy breakfast prior to arriving.

You'll learn to not only bring Mastery into your business or organization, but how to make it a part of your personal daily routine. You'll learn to conquer "imposter syndrome" and recognize yourself as someone who does have something to offer and to share. You'll learn that, while you'll always be an apprentice in some things, you can start to Be the Master right now.

We've had enormous problems filling technical positions in our organization. I read your book, and then shared it with our CIO. We had some long conversations, but we've decided to launch a full apprenticeship program in IT, and build our own pipeline for technology people. I'm leading it. I feel more successful than I ever have in my career, and we're bringing jobs to young people who'll probably be with us for a decade or more. I'm making sure to teach them all to "Be the Master." - Evan R.

You'll change your perspective on some of the most common myths and tropes in the world of learning and sharing, including:

  • Who you can serve as Master to, right now
  • Why "Mentoring" is the wrong way to think about teaching
  • What it is that companies don't understand about teaching
  • How Mastery helped pull humans out of the Dark Ages, and how it can help us all today
  • When to start thinking of yourself as "worthy" of helping your apprentice audience
  • Where to focus yourself, every day, to push yourself to your own success

This isn't a seminar that tries to convince you to change who you are. It's a workshop that will convince you to be who you want to be, and show you how to hold that in front of yourself, every day, as a goal. And this isn't a hokey self-improvement program that wants to sell you add-ons, because there's nothing more to buy. After this workshop, you will be the only thing you need to sell to yourself, and you'll have all the tools you need to do it.

I've been unhappy in my job for some time. After reading your book, I realized that I'd never really written down what would make me happy. I did, and it turned out the opportunity was right in my own company. By focusing on what I needed to get there, I've earned a new position in just under six months. I'm getting paid a bit more, but I'm 100x happier. I've started mentoring programs to help other people in the company find the right place for themselves, and it's the most gratified I've ever been. - Shandra P.

The success of your life is measured by the lives you’ve helped succeed - now's the time to start. After all, wouldn’t you rather live in a world where you helped one person take even one tiny step forward than in one where you didn’t? You can, and you can gain the tools and confidence you need right now.

Key takeaways:

  • Gain the confidence to understand that you really are ready to serve as Master
  • Realize that Mastery is just a part of how you live, not a new job or a major change
  • See that your apprentice audience might be outside your current workplace
  • Learn how to bring Mastery into any workplace
  • Define what success means and looks like for you, personally
  • Create a completely personalized plan for achieving that success on a week-by-week basis
  • Embrace key concepts that will help you better navigate a career in the world of business
  • Become braver about your life and your career, and learn to become a driver in your lfe, not a passenger

Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Consider it an investment in your life and your career - you will absolutely leave with tools, information, and an attitude that is worth the price. In fact, let's call it a guarantee: if you're not fully satisfied, just walk right up to Don at the end of the day on Sunday and let him know. You'll get a 50% cash refund (which lets us still recover the cost of the venue and catering, and yes, catering is that expensive in hotels these days), with no guilt and no questions. You can keep all the class materials on top of it.

I wish I'd had this kick in the pants ten years ago. My "success" isn't much more than what I already had, but now I'm able to work with younger people in our organization and teach them how we do business. They're going to be set up for a career in a way that I had to struggle for. It feels so good to be able to go home at night knowing you've helped someone else be just a little better off than you were. Thank you. - Eric G.
