Keynote talk Description

Speakers: Dr. Daniel Meola and Bethany Meola

This talk will examine the origins of sin and how love has to be transformed by Christ’s redemption according to Saint John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. It will begin with examining how sin brings shame, instability of the marriage union, the corruption of the spousal meaning of the body, and a hardened heart. Then, it will discuss how Christ bestows a new heart upon man communicated through the Sacraments, opens up the pathway of forgiveness and mercy, and creates a new way of living marital love according to the Holy Spirit. In conclusion, it will offer practical advice about practicing forgiveness as a couple and living “purity of the heart,” which overcomes shame and pride, cultivates fidelity and mercy, and helps married couples “suffer well.”
