Description of the Keynote Adult Talk:

The Golden Key of Marriage and the Family: Humanae Vitae as a Prophetic Sign

This talk reflects on the courageous insight and prophetic words on marriage and the family from Blessed Paul VI. Together with the total vision of life and love revealed in St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, we are gifted with the golden key for understanding our identity and vocation in the world: the family. This sign is one our present culture longs to know and experience. “Family, become what you are… a community of life and love!” (St. John Paul II, Familiaris Consortio, 17)

Biography of Bill Donaghy:

Bill Donaghy has worked in the fields of mission and evangelization since 1999. In October of 2000, he was chosen to represent his country in a special tribute for the Jubilee of Missionaries in Rome. With 11 other missionaries from around the world, he was given a simple cross by St. John Paul II and called by the Holy Father to “bring Jesus back to your country.” He is filled with a passion for his faith and dedicated to spreading the joy of the New Evangelization. Through his work with the Pontifical Mission Societies, Bill has given hundreds of talks on the Catholic Faith to young people throughout the greater Philadelphia area and beyond. Bill worked for nearly a decade teaching theology (Biblical Studies, Social Justice, and the Theology of the Body) at Malvern Preparatory School as well as a Christian Marriage and Family course at Immaculata University, while giving talks, retreats, and conferences for the Theology of the Body Institute. He has recently entered full-time work for the Institute as an instructor for the Certification Program, an international speaker, and curriculum specialist. He has given talks and retreats to bishops, priests, deacons, consecrated men and women, and the lay faithful throughout the United States, as well as Canada, Mexico, Chile, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. Recently Bill co-authored with Chris Stefanick the RISE 30 Day Challenge for Men, which calls men to new depths in their Catholic masculine identity and vocation. He and his wife, Rebecca, live just outside of Philadelphia, PA with their four children.

"I'm a great admirer of Bill Donaghy's work for two reasons: his fidelity as a Catholic, and his exceptional talents as a speaker and teacher. It's a pleasure to recommend him." - Archbishop Charles Chaput, OFM, Cap., Archbishop of Philadelphia, PA
